Tiered Storage · E9 Domain Classification · Universal Adapters
VM is a transversal memory sinkhole that combines the depth of VMS tiering with the semantic retrieval intelligence of SoulBrain. Hot/Warm/Cold storage tiers, E9 engine for domain classification, and adapter interfaces for ANN, SNN, SSM, RSM, and TOS models. All files never stop existing — they just find their level.
Data sinks through three depth layers based on access frequency. Never lost. Never unreachable.
VM provides a standardized interface for any host model to capture, store, and retrieve memories.

What VM actually does — built and compiling.
Manages PostgreSQL connections with pgvector extensions. Creates hot/warm/cold tier directories. Hybrid retrieval via vector search, BM25, and fused RRF pipeline.
Domain classification by mathematically collapsing paths and names down to digital roots (1-9). Natively corrects congestion overlaps.
Runs asynchronously checking access timestamps. Migrates hot→warm at 7 days, warm→cold at 30 days. Atomic database updates. zstd compression ready for cold tier.
Chunks raw text, feeds to VmAdapter for structural state generation, calculates E9 domains, passes payload into VmsStore. End-to-end memory capture.
Multi-crate architecture: vm-core (storage/routing), vm-tiering (sinkhole), vm-adapters (model interfaces), vm-ingest (pipeline). Compiles without database at build time.
Universal memory engine. Ready to serve any ONE agent. All files find their level.
